I got one of these drill, chisel and knife sharpener devices last time round and was underwhelmed by its performance with drills. Mine produces a very unsatisfactory point shape. Sharp though.

It appears to be a copy of the original PlasPlugs sharpener system which does work very well. I have a PlasPlugs one and use it frequently for smaller drills but its getting old so thought the Lidl one was worth a punt.

Tried one drill and the angles were way off with a very odd shape point. Point is symmetrical so the basic setting and alignment is correct but clearly something wrong with either the angles or drill point projection setting. My best guess is that my example puts the drill point too far forward so the drill is overground. As I have a known good PlasPlugs one to compare it should be possible to figure out whats going wrong. Not sure that its worth the effort for me tho'.

Not in love with the grinding wheel substitute sheet metal pressing with abrasive deposited on it. Looks cheap and, potentially, much less accurate than a proper grinding wheel. Effective wheel thickness from hub to grinding surface is very important with these.

Judging by the PlasPlugs one the required drill grind amount is very small. Just a bit more than kissing the grinding wheel. No more than 4 or 5 light sweeps before it starts grinding. Might be possible to make empirical adjustments to the Lidl one by altering the grinding wheel mount so that it can be moved back.

Pity its ineffective because the flip over drill holding device and projection / angle setting methods are simple and clever. Beats the pants off the shenanigans needed with the usual cheapy swing across the wheel types. Assuming you manage to get one of those with the right angles and offsets built in!.

I got a plasplugs one for £4 or £5 at a boot sale.
