My venerable Kerry Super 8 drill’s drive belt is looking very tatty and I am thinking about replacing it.

Does anyone have a link to a replacement belt or enough details to order one with confidence ?

From surfing about it seems to be a type A42 V belt, but I cant find more details with dimensions.

      Thanks

Nows the time to take the top cover off and paint the details on the inside!. If only I remembered to do that.

Fom the Lathes Ltd link to product.

“Kerry “Super 8” & “Drillmaster” drive belt. UK or EU-made high-quality, machine-tool grade belt with an invisible joint that, unlike the cheap imports, does not bump as it goes around the pulleys and so ensures the smoothest possible drive.”

I’ve been caught before with buying cheap belts from bearing suppliers, sometimes it doesn’t matter – for your mower for example – But they do tend to have a lump where the joint is, not something I would want on a pillar drill.

“You pays your money and you takes your pick” as they say.

I must say that I have never had any problem with cheap belts that I have bought from a well-known auction site. The belt on my Taiwanese drill-press, that several people told me at the time I was a fool for buying, only lasted forty-years!

Chris I think you should bring that belt back and demand a new one !

41 YEARS ?? Not good enough.

Sudden thought !  I bought my similar drill in 1983, maybe I should check my belts too ?

                    Thanks for these posts.

Using the above info I have gone with this from Amazon including next day magic.

                    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BMTGW2D7?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Like for like swap, no visible joint or lumps etc fitted and runs perfectly.

Used for a couple of hours with no issue.

Over the years I have bought many items from lathes.co.uk so have no guilt paying half the price from somewhere else.

                    Thanks again.
