Do you have a picture or link to the one you want. I have fitted the 250-111 or size 2 to my S7 which I guess will have the same compound. The reason was because I had quite a lot of cutters that were 14mm + To fit this one I had to get 4mm ground off the top of the compound & then I machined 4mm from the underside of the holders so I could get them low enough. All great now & glad I did the conversion. Look at you tube ,I think Steve Jordan did one on his ML7. The one I have will only take 1 holder at a time though. Just thinking about it , does your compound rotate for angle cuts or is it fixed.

            Steve.

Possibly some confusion there ^^^, Steve

Mark is presumably looking for one of the modern clones.

I have the Aa size on my S7.

The standard A size tool holder will not go low enough, BUT the genuine Multifix made some special A size tool holders for the Myford 7 lathes and I think the set was designated Am.

                  Nick.

Edit:- Even when using the Aa size with insert tooling, the 8mm square shank tools only just go low enough, to be on centre height (I use 10mm square, milled down to 8mm high, leaving them 10mm wide).

Found all the dimensions online and ordered the Aa size as its within spec for the toolpost base to chuck centre, chose the german multifix although i believe they all come from china. Anyway its a nice birthday present to me from my wife .

Jusr had a lovely message from PeWetools in germany, telling me his story about his multifix toolpost and the devopments using china as his supplier, was a very i interesting read.

I'll second that and please do post and let us know how you get on with it . I'm a Drummond user and tool post rigidity is key to getting these little lathes to work well. The M type is more capable in some respects than an ML7 but a rigid set up is vital.

I looked at Multi-Fix and found that almost none of the angles I wanted to set tools at were catered for by the 9 degree increments.

You can still turn the whole post if you wish, unless you pin it in position. Which obviously needs to be very carefully done to ensure its parrallel to the chuck.

Interested to see what PeWetools had to say – My experience with the Chinese Create Tool holders was excellent – Instead of repeating it all , if interested the relevant posts are HERE

Peruse the whole page of posts, but maybe from 12/07/2017 is more to the point
