My model of Henry Fords 1896 Quadricycle will need an electric bell on the front, similar to an old fashioned fire bell on a building, I know that a 1/4 scale bell will no sound very good and so had the idea of a sound module as used on model railways, if the sound is correct.

Does anyone know if such things exist?

There are modules that can record any sound you want. So tingaling or bong is your choice ! Noel

Just type "sound playback module" into your online marketplace of choice (I tried eBay) and you will see many different types. (or wait until the shops re-open and buy a recordable birthday card, although I guess this will sound a bit tinny).

Alternatively, can you hide a larger bell (or a coiled clock gong) elsewhere?

instead of a larger bell could you use a larger part of the vehicle structure like a chassis member?

Many thanks for the helpful answers.

To answer Nick, the only part of the vehicle would be the battery box at the front and I need most of that for a or some batteries. It will be worth seeing how much space is left though.

I have determined that the original bell would be the sort used as a fire bell in or on buildings or a school bell.

A remote door bell would not be suitable as it needs to work from a push button on the end of the steering tiller.
