Outside thread for the top (jacking) part (m30 x 2mm):

Cheating I know but this seems to me to be the best approach.

That's what I tend to do just grab a couple of nuts and a stud from the hold down set.

Lee with all your vibration problems you may want to add a locknut

Good for you ! I hoped that you had. Its not an easy skill internal threading, particularly small or deep bores. Although I admit that I could have cheated and used a tap, the amount of effort required to turn a large tap of that size is enormous. I've only ever used that tap once, never again.

Wow. You certainly don’t do things by halves! They are generally supports – not used for jacking up the leaning tower of Pisa! I’m surprised you didn’t put a hole through the top, for a tommy bar.🙂

Good work, mind. Easier to practise on a larger internal thread.
