            That looks great.

Can I ask where the design came from, I might like a go myself.

They are there, I can see them on a PC with XP/IE8, iPad/Safari& Chrome, and on an Android phone.

But the main thing, nice work Wolfie

                            Hi Wolfie,

Very nice, but have you used it and how good do you find it to work with.

                            All the best.

Now you need to accessorise –teeth 2

The endmill and four facet drill sharpening jigs by HH are what i made next and they work well.

Do hope ChrisJ that you find the book useful. If you do decide to make the grinding rest then have a look at these web pages, One modifications listed that is easy to make and definitely worth doing is to make the side arms (20) thinner. The web pages explain why and I see that Wolfie has done this.

                                **LINK**

                                **LINK**

You may also like to consider the modified off hand grinder to take white cup and saucer wheels. These are much better for grinding high speed steel, though of course far from essential.

                                **LINK**

You enquire Peter how good it is to work with.

Like all devices intended to be used for a wide range of sharpening tasks, setting up can need care, even the Quorn is renouned for being difficult for some tasks. Adding the magnetic bases, as shown at the second link above, does make one quicker to set up for the more complex tasks.

The following will show you what can be achieved using one.

Well done Wolfie, even if you never used it, and I am sure you will, you will have learnt a lot about using a milling machine, which is of course the main idea behind my "Complete Course" books, both for the milling machine and the lathe. Will be in contact soon.

That and the four facet drill attachment have been my most used acessories. The slitting saw attachment was used once to sharpen all my slitting saws but hasn't been out of the drawer since.

Good idea Wolfie. That was my first model engineering project:

                                      Link to picture.

Dont know what's happening here.  Tried to insert image into the message as usual but it came up with the wrong aspect ratio whatever I tried so I've added the link instead.

Nice to note Harold 's comments here.. in another thread the response of a designer( to queries over drawings published / commercialy) is less err..helpfull. although to be fare his comments are only reported not directly made in fora

I would like to take this opportunity to commend HH for his "contribution to the art."

                                          Hi Harold

I have the book now and am finding it interesting.

I have spotted two strange symbols on your drawings one is a pair of circles (one within the other) and the other a small trapezoid (to the right). What do these mean please.

Also you list the various grades of steel required for the each piece but not the total amount or size of each piece ? I realise I could sit and work it out but I'm a bit lazy.

Do you publish a list that I could give a supplier ?

Harold's symbols show whether the drawing is in first or third angle projection – imagine they are two views of a small bucket, and the rest of the drawing will have the same relationship between the different views.

Tubal Cain's book on engineering drawing is adamant that every proper drawing should make the projection used explicit. My four sheets of drawings by Tubal Cain for the Lady Stephanie engine don't show the projection used anywhere…

                                                    Sorry Neil

I guess I should have been clearer, it's the bold bit that I was hoping to get answered.

                                                    Thanks though

Hi Chris, would you also like Harold to cut the material and deliver it to your house? Sorry if I am being a bit rude!

                                                      Best wishes,

                                                      Tony
