I only met Ketan twice when I visited the company in Syston. He was really helpful to me in deciding what I machine I was going to buy. I was sorry when he retired.

The news of the accident is so sad, there is so little one can say. All our thoughts are with his family.

My wife Jean and I are deeply saddened to hear of the tragic news. He was always very helpful with my projects and a very good friend. Often working behind the scenes to assist in anyway he could.

Always sad to hear of people’s passing. More so, perhaps, in the circumstances that are being reported.

I didn’t know Ketan personally, only by reputation and by reading his contributions to this forum.

Thats is sad news indeed. As a former PPL, I know flying in the UK on a PPL can be quite dangerous due to the busy airspace, weather, and terrain. I should think at least one of those three may have been a factor.

Shocked to see this on the BBC news site and see the name. Brain took a few seconds to put the two together, first thought was coincidence? then an inner ‘Oh no’…

Awful news.

I never met or spoke to Ketan. But as many have said it is always sad news when a prominent member of the engineering forum and member who supplied many here through Arceuro.

I did like many did buy from there with no complaints

Live in the same town/was village as Ketan and visited ARC often.  Both he and Sheetan would chat for a while, during Covid we would cross paths while out walking the streets.  A big loss to our community.

First met him at John Stevenson’s wake.

Ketan and John were great friends and associates

Ketan was such a splendid man with whom to do business. He became more of a friend than a vendor.

Arc Euro became my, and a friend’s, favourite and almost exclusive, supplier

So sad that he did not have long to enjoy his retirement.

Really tragic news especially after only retiring  last year. Being only a few minutes away Arc was always my first  go to and was never disappointed with any purchase. Ketan and the other staff always went above and beyond to assist,oftain came out of his little office for a quick chat.

Sadly missed.

I wanted some new taper roller bearings for my milling machine.  As my first choice for anything I sent an email to ARC and got a telephone call back from Ketan (whom I had never met) who spent the next half hour giving me a lesson on the installation and running-in of said bearings.  He concluded by telling me to buy Timken from Simply Bearings!

What a nice man.

This is very sad.

I met him once about 10 years ago when I bought a tiny Sieg lathe from Arc. He chatted with me for twenty minutes or so about its idiosyncrasies as compared to the Unimat 3 from which its design developed, and which I’d once had myself. He advised me accurately and AFAIK comprehensively what accessories might be usable on both.

Knowledgeable, articulate and helpful – the world’s lost a really good person.

Sorrow also about his wife, and for his family and friends.

In his printed catalogue he said he was a bearing specialist and I wonder how he got into this area of expertise.
