Hi – Does anyone know where to buy individual diamonds for use with grinding wheel dressings tools as illustrated on page 61, MEW 297?

Ah! So you are looking to use a Diamond to dress a Carborundum type wheel, rather than dressing a Diamond wheel?

There should be several companies able to supply such a tool. They can be single diamond, or a cluster point.

Yes, I wish to be able to dress a carborundum wheel using a tool similiar to the one shown in the MEW 297

I was really exploring the options of buying the individual diamond to fit an existing holder

The diamond is bonded into the end of steel rod which can modified as required.

The chances of finding anyone to supply a one off industrial diamond is pretty well zero. If you did find one, how are you going to bond it to a steel substrate?

Do yourself a favour and just buy one from Clarke, for a tenner, you won't regret it.

                      Andrew.

Point taken. It doesn’t do any harm to ask!
