      Hi all,

I'm looking to make a rolling road for my 7 1/4" gauge Tich. Are there any published designs for such a thing? I tried a search, but it came up with nothing unfortunately!

      Regards,
      Exmoor

I found nothing. Engineering in Miniature 25-1(July 2003) has one at a show, but I can find no plans

ahi, I am in the process of making one myself, two pieces of angle iron with holes in each about one and a quarter inches apart bearings out of a pair of roller blade skates, thjese are five sixteenth bore and about one inch o,d. useing threaded rod as spacers come axles, this allows you to adjust tracking for whatever gauge required, the roller blades came from a thrift shop, five dollars for sixteen bearings and eight rubber wheels for saving, and some aluminium for melting down.

I'm sure I've seen at least two designs in ME.

                You can buy here **LINK**

If not wishing to buy, it should not be difficult to work out dimensions

Thanks for all your replies chaps. I'm going to follow suit with you Neville and go down the lines of angle with ball bearings bolted on, although not out of roller blade skates!

                  Thanks again!

Do yourself a favour (well your friends) and make 3 axles worth. laugh

Referring to clive's link photo. Instead of the axle between rollers just bolt them to the angle iron, but turn the angle inwards. Then bolt the angle to a plate to seatablish width. The plate is drilled for multiple guages. this keeps the centre section free to drop the grate more easily on some designs.
