I want to use the LibreCAD software to draw a ring of objects (just reference points). When I had access to Turbocad there was a drawing method that did this called Array. Using Fit Radial Copy gave the ring of objects. The best description is that it looks a bit like a clock face.

So far I haven’t managed to figure out how to do this so any suggestions would be most helpful.

I think the Rotate command will do what you ask.

type rotate, select the thing, select the centre point, then the dialog will pop up.

select the multiple copies option, fill in the number of copies, and in the angle box type the angle between them.

        rotate

Thanks Dave, I’ll have a go this evening.

The programme seems so comprehensive that I felt there must be a way.

            Dave, having difficulty finding Rotate.

My version iv 2.2.0.2, wonder if you are using the same.

Perhaps it is just the way my programme is set up.

Rotate is in the Modify sub-menu:

Clicking on the Modify button should list all the modify commands, on my machine ROTATE is near the top:

I just type rotate into the command line on the right hand side.

Actually I just type rotate and it appears there

                  Dave,

Ive managed to draw the image I wanted, many thanks.

I just need lots of practice. Do you know of a printed manual that is worth having/

Not seen a printed manual, but it mostly follows the older AutoCAD ways of working so something for AutoCAD might be helpful.

There are annoying differences in the naming of some commands, but the command itself is usually there if you poke around the menus

                      Dave,

I can’t thank you enough for guiding me through this procedure. I have it sorted now.

As you say it seems a printed manual isn’t available so I’ll have to possibly print the relevant pages as I need them. Of course this way I’ll have the up to date information. This interest in LibreCAD is connected to my postings about John Wildings electric clock.

                      Thanks again, John

Dave, just a followup to my interest in LibreCAD.

I have bought the book by Johnnes Wild called LibreCAD, step by Step.

Interestingly it covers the problem areas I have been having difficulty with. It’s not just a tutorial, it seems so more in line with what I have been looking for.

Having been used to Turbocad, when I upgraded to W11 found that the software no longer functioned so I wanted a replacement. LibreCAD seems to fit this requirement.

                        Thanks again for helping.

                        John
