12vdc Armature rewinding

Ten slots, ten commutator segments,27t /slot. Coils round slots 1-5, 6-10,etc.building up to 5 pairs of coils.

Am I right to connect coil ends to segments 1-5,6-10, etc.

If anyone has done this before ,would appreciate confirmation !

You are right with your connections, that's the way I'v done it on motors I'v built.

Thanks for that information, a big help. I am trying to allow enough slack on the commutatator tags to turn it through+/- 45deg without breaking anything to get the brushes in the right place !

I take the jonts in the coils direct to the tag nearest to the two coils. One of my motors, built from stuff around the workshop is mor than adequate for running my Super Adept lathe, or my mini power hacksaw, Have not got a photo of it , but it's basically a scaled down version of this old machine. And the hacksaw is shown in the photo above attached to one of my hot air engines(Junior Hacksaw blade).
