CLarke C430 lathe threading

Clarke C430 lathe does not have a TDI.

I seen some guys construct one and wonder if anyone can advise me about  how i go about making one for this machine.

 

The leadscrew pitch is 2mm and what number of teeth on a gear should i use  and, do i need more than 1?}[most lathe i worked on have a number  of gears on the indicator].

depending on the amount of screw cutting you do why cant you just reverse the lathe?
