One of the many items acquired at auction sale for little outlay was Caterham tacho – EET3-1A32-00B marked as 0-8000 rrm (dial just 0-80) 4cyl – it as a strange to me 6 pin connector – I can find no info as to how to drive it – my idea is to use a cheap arduino to interface – can anyone advise – it looks undamaged and case is marked ok but I have no guarantee it still works sorry title should be RPM of my mill

I could easily just use a 4digit display as a purely functional display but I fancied something different – I have no idea if it actually works as I took a punt on it,for I think 1 or 2 pounds, at the local auction where sometimes I have struck lucky in that no-one had recognised a specialised tool or item – tho I usually avoid items I can’t physically handle and inspect, I have been tempted and often get a dud where an obvious non-working device has been repackaged to appear new – eg in one case I bought an extractor fan in original packaging only to discover that the fan blade behind the grill was absent – deceptive sales are not restricted to Ebay but at auction houses there is seldom any come back – caveat emptor strictly applies.

I had discovered previously the same thread but was confused by mention of lights as mine appears to have no visible indicators – catch is I cannot extract it from the case – the front bezel once a rubber seal in moved can be twisted but doesn’t want to come away from the ‘can’ protecting the mechanism
