We are trying to identify a club member's 2 1/2" gauge loco and have found reference to an article in ME from 1913 by Aynsworth Harrison about a 1/2" scale Great Central Atlantic model.
Volume 28, Issue 622, 27th March 1913. starting page 289

Does anyone have this issue and would be able to make a scan of the article to see if it is pertinent to the investigation please?

Just looked up Aynsworth in the ME Index and found a photo of the loco that appeared in Volume 29 Issue 656. I'll scan it for you.

That's fantastic, thanks a lot. I can pass the link to this page on to the club for anyone who doesn't see it anyway.

edit: by the way the 4in lathe mentioned on teh first page is the one also known as the 'Roundbed". A straightforward screwcutting lathe that didn't even have a topslide (although often added in the following 100 years).
