Right, not sure I’ll regret this but….

…. I have a Boxford AUD and a fair few bits with it. I have had it probably 20 years. Nothing heavy done on it. But it’s taking up a little to much room.

I do not use the lathe that often now so thinking about downsizing.

Something a little smaller, I don’t use often, it’s more for smaller bar stock. I’m not getting any younger so thinking I would like something a little smaller.

Able to screw cut. Be nice to have dro as well.

      Any  recommendations please

Thanks for the heads up, I have looked at this one. Also the chester db7vs and db8vs.

I don’t want to go down the plastic gear root of some lathes.  Coming from the gear box of the Boxford will be a differnt thing.

I do like the size of the warco. On

Y thing is I have a small warco mill and I’ve had a few problems with the electronics and have had to strip it a few times. So that’s my only hold back.

            All the best

I have had such a mini lathe for 10+ years. Made aluminum gears for it but those where loud. So I switched back to the original plastic (POM) gears. Never broke a gear and if, I would use the 3D printer to make me a new one.

This warco has, according to the description, a back gear for maximum torque and that is nice for threading.

The 350 mm between centers makes you remove the tail stock often.
