Motor malfunction

Dear All,

Me again I have got to the bottom of my issues re back gear etc but today I put it all back together only to find now when I try to start it it pops my fuses. Everything turns by hand but with power them Pop.

So what have i done to cause this issue.

The only thing I have done that could be an issue is a small oil leak from the gear box which dripped onto the motor this was quickly cleaned up.

Any suggestions would be appreciated before I head back to the workshop to strip it all back down.

what ‘pops’ ? the current trip or the earth leakage ?
If you rely on fuses and they blow then possibly you have a miswired motor or even an oil induced leakage across the power lines (tho here I would expect to see smoke) – if earth leakage then possibly your oil leak has caused some leakage path

Oil is usually an insulator, used extensively in HV trasformers

Does the motor run if you remove the belt?
