Harrison L5

i have just acquired a second hand Harrison L5 Lathe from the 1970? it in quite good condition except the sud pump and the chuck key is missing also the lathe tool post could some suggest a suitable one as looking at other posts and suppliers they all seem to small thanks

What about an ex washing machine pump mounted in an earth metal box or a plastic box, but do ensure that it is completely sealed again any water getting in, they do work,or a fish pond pump or an aquarium pump. In the long term the coolant might cause the plastic to deteariate if it does, get another, plenty about. Chuck key is easily made or bought. If you come across a 415 volt pump they are usually easily converted to work on 240 volts using I think, a 4 micro farad capacitor or maybe its only 2 can't remember from a 4 foot fluorescent light fitting. Nice machine, enjoy the hobby. John

On my 140 I've fitted a multifix toolpost, had to make a adapter for it to fit the large T slot on the compound slide, does the job a treat. Sorry about the angle of the pictures, no idea how to rotate them on my phone 👍🏻

Might be better off waiting for the right pump to come up which were becoming scarce 5 years ago. From memory the depth and pcd of fixings is radically different to the shallow Chinese sold by rooks of dealers.
Not sure if yours is same as my old scrapped 140 much much newer from 1965, but picked up two for the M300 one labelled Boxford the other from a Colchester so have three needing a rewind you don't want to know price of.

Alternatively buy complete kit from dealer about £150 and switch on and off at mains.
