where I have emailed possible suppliers for people.

looking for hard to find items.

I have never received a reply or a thanks

what has happened to the goodwill between model engineers

Does nthe "send email" link actually send an email or does it send a PM? It might be because it is not immediately obvious when you get a PM. Other forums can send an email when you receive a PM.

I barely galnce at the wanted list as I assume people are listing there because they want second hand items that someone might be looking to get rid of rather than information on a supplier. If they are after information on a supplier they tend to raise a specific thread.

It sends the person an e-mail not a PM but won't appear in your e-mail sent box. Any reply back from the person will come to your personal e-mail.

As Bazyle says I generally regard Wanted ads from people who want second hand or don't want to pay full price so don't point them in the direction of a supplier.

Be careful if you put a wanted/forsale item on here: I advertised my Hobbymat forsale and the only reply I had was from a scammer

Whatever you do don't reply to those Emails.
