I /we have no doubt felt the force of Storm Ciara. However I see that Mytholmroyd in West Yorkshire has suffered both flooding and storm damage. Mytholmroyd is, of course, the home of RDG and thus Myford. Does anybody know if they have suffered any damage? I certainly hope that they are all safe.

No direct news but I see they have the Rochdale canal between them and the Calder so thay may have got away with it. Hope so.

Can't speak for West Yorkshire but here in the Midlands it was very windy. Branch off next door tree down onto Wifes car bonnet. Just minor damage.

From memory, the industrial estate where RDG are located is on higher ground as you leave Mytholmroyd heading towards Halifax, so I think they should be OK. I don't recall them saying anything after the last floods 4 years or so ago & the current situation looked about the same to me from the TV coverage locally last night.

ps. Whether or not the staff could get in is another matter, as the road was closed at Luddenden Foot (next village towards Halifax) and Hebden Bridge the other way was also flooded again. The flood defences at Mytholmroyd that were being put place after the last flood were not due to be finished until the summer, but they looked to have been overwhelmed anyway.

Had plenty of wind and rain here roof on my wood store is no longer so spent the day moving it into another shed. Guess what I will be doing once the wind and rain stops crying.
