Hi Model Engineers.
I wonder if someone would be kind enough to answer a question I have with regard to LBSC Speedy.
Measured up the con rod to cylinder centre line on the drawing and it appears the big end brasses have all the side play to both outside side of crank pins and the rods are in a straight line running against the lobes. Should not the side play be about half and half, so that the crosshead is not pushed to one side of the bar when using the wheel axle end float,or is this how locos are designed to run in general.
Any comments would be much appreciated.
