My E-Bay feed threw up a small electromagnetic pump

      eBay item number:188629221019

for about £30 which might be of interest to folk investigating coolant application or wanting to improve machine lubrication.

I guess its related to the fuel pumps used in diesel heater and similar applications so its inherently going to deliver far less than conventional rotary coolant pump. Being a pump its likely to do rather better than basic dip feed at getting lubrication or coolant down into a cut.

Several people are selling them; this is in the instructions for one of them; not the best translation clearly, but does state you need a filter on the input

          Specification:

Item Type: Machine Electromagnetic Oil Pump
          Material: Stainless steel
Uses: Suitable for small processing machinery (such as lathes, milling machines, grinders)
          Specification: Good-quality domestic 220v
          Power: 13W
          Voltage: AC220V
          Inlet Suction: 40KPa
          Spit Pressure: 1kgf/cm²
          Discharge Volume: 400-500cc/min
          How to Use:
          1. While replacing the oil pump, please clean up the wastes such as residues in the grease, iron filings.
This will protect the oil pump and keep it from breaking for a long time.
If wastes such as residues and iron filings are not cleaned up before replacement, the oil pump will suck in, which will cause the operation to stop, or even burn the oil pump in severe cases.
          2. When a new oil pump is installed for the first time, sometimes the oil pump makes a noise and does not supply oil due to the air in the pump .
At this time, the oil should be injected manually from the inlet of the oil pump when the power is turned on. Just help the air in the oil pump to discharge.
