I try to make Compo the Compound Oscillator ME2520 p.640 as my first model steam engine.

Then, I am faced with a problem.

I can't understand a sentence in 4th line p.641.

"The curved recess is formed by marking down the length of each block, then dividing it into four."

Which direction I have to divide each block into four?

Please tell me a little bit more in detail about this part.

Top image, divide length into 4 equal parts along the centre line and punch then centre drill each mark

Second image use 3/16" drill to form shallow indent

Third Image use 3/8" drill to increase size of previous holes, only drill to depth of drill point

Last image complete using a round file
