Hi all, looking for a supplier of Helical gears….prefer from stock….

I need a matched pair between 75-100mm about 20-25mm tooth thickness and

hardened …

these are to run in mesh one above the other to reverse the direction of the driven gear…..to transmit 2-5hp at varying speeds…..constant load…..

this is to drive a camshaft (4 cylinder petrol) in the past they were driven by ally or even fiber gears meshed with a steel one…

One possible solution is two sets of replacment angle grinder gears that are sold on eBay. I do not know if any of them would be as large as 75mm (I assume this is the diameter.)

I found Paul Wheeler at Cross & Morse of Birmingham very helpful. 021 360 0155. They have a online catalogue so you might find what you seek there. I ordered a pair of bevel gears and they were delivered the following day.

Only problem with stock ears is they are usually pilot bore as they don't know what you want them for and therefore unhardened although you do have a choice of materials.
