When I received the Government NHS letter saying I had to stay in for 12 weeks as regards the high risks to myself due to me having had Lymphoma could not understand why it had been sent as have been given the OK for over a year.
Had a phone call from my Doctor this morning was told those letters were sent out in a rush and that surgery Doctors have now to check if correct.
My Doctor said that the 12 week isolation does not apply to me now and can do the recommended outside activity if I want to.
If my Lymphoma treatment had not worked would have gone downhill fast.
Doctor told me to be careful due to my age so have phoned all the kind people that helped me to thank them.
Be a pleasant change doing a walk instead of up and down my staircase.

Keep safe and don’t take any unnecessary risks

I had 2 stents fitted in 2012. Not had any issues since. Being getting txt daily from NHS saying self isolate for 12 weeks. No letter so far.

I have 2 stents also about 2010, before that i had a thrombosis in the lung and lost a 1/3, I'm almost 63, diabetic and slightly over weight, a smoker too, its not as frowned apon here in spain.

One thing is certain, if i get Cov-19 I'm a goner for sure so I'm volunterily isolating myself even though its also forced here still, once the isolation is relaxed I will stay in isolation for a few weeks at least unless a vacine is available. Spain is one of the worst places to be right now due to goverment reaction being 10 days later than it should have been and the deaths reported is far from the truth. If your a pensioner or retired its a good excuse to lock yourself in your workshop and have the least personal contact possible just in case.

To make things even worse my wife is a butcher and has worked throughout the whole deal and in contact with hundreds of people daily.

Stay safe, stay at home if possible.

            cheers

            Derek

… a smoker too, its not as frowned apon here in spain.

You remind me of the emphasis on the social role of smoking in Hemingway's "For Whom the Bell Tolls", a milieu in which walking distances were measured in cigarettes. A good read for self-isolaters and better for you!

I'm only here on holiday, it started some 30 years ago 😆 and never went home. I'm a Geordie, from Blyth, Northumberland originally.
