Well first off that photo was the right way around till it appeared here. Oh well.

Can anyone ID that blowlamp? The only marking on it is a mainly destroyed decal. As you can see from the Zippo for scale it is quite a large thing so I can't imagine it is a common make.

Also does anyone know how to safety test these things? I use a much smaller petrol blowtorch frequently but when I tested that it was on a cup full of petrol while this would require a jerrycan of paraffin. A significantly more dangerous prospect. If not I might just polish it and put it on a shelf.

That's not a blow lamp – it 's the igniter for a Saturn rocket…….that is why it is on it's side

Looking it with the torch in just the right angle shows a broad arrow (so must be a military lamp), 1944/5 British Safety Stove Co and some other unclear characters, BH maybe. That said British safety stove doesn't find anything similar on google.

All I could find out is that they were also distributed as Turley & Williams Ltd.

Lots of blow lamps here but nothing quite the same.

It has a T&W below the arrow. Also been looking around found that it looks kinda similar to "Monitor" blowlamps. Difference being the steel rahter than brass case and slightly different plumbing.

Well those links turned out funky but I got to it eventually. There is a replica of mine over there in the youtube link.

Next weekend I might see if I can do some brazing with it.
