Airscrew fans – how hot?

Like many on here I use an ex military cooling 'airscrew' fan to raise steam. Mine gets very hot – obviously, but these were designed to provide cool air not duct hot air, so just wondering how much heat they can withstnd?

fizzy, is there a way of using the blow instead of sucking the hot gas through the fan. Does it have metal fan blades? The only problem I see straight off is the bearing getting over heated, and dried out. I think they are similar to some types of car heater fan.
