      Just been scammed on Ebay.

I had a site transformer for sale starting bids at £20 plus offers. Cash on collection.

Guy offers £20 thought nah let the auction roll.

      Bids £30 thought ok.

Unbeknown to me Ebay haven't stopped the auction running. Guy turns up unannounced I'm out gives wife £30 then says sorry its £20 look. He's just bid on the still running auction! So wife see's £20 bid on item.

      Be warned!

      Cheers Michael

Unfortunate but best to always handle goods handover yourself in future, that's one of the problems with sold items being collected with cash payment.

              Ebay scam ??

Did you accept his offer of £30 officially on ebay as normally once you do, ebay automatically ends the listing.

              However, system errors can happen.

              Hi br

Well It it says sold for £30! I'm sure in the small print it ill be my fault.

It's the way the guy has done it . He gave my wife £30 he knew what the price was .

              Cheers Michael

                Hi Emgee

He turned up unannounced. There as no agreement on the pickup time.

                Cheers Michael

At the point he handed over £30 the sale was legally completed so taking £10 back from your wife was theft by fraudulaent misrepresentation.
