Here's a tour of my small work shop/shed. When you have a small shed its like a boat, you don't waste a square inch of space and all nooks and crannies get utilized!

          Great video, Jim.

It's always fascinating to see how others have their shops set up.

Forum members workshop tours would make a nice thread.

I'll see if I can get it together, to do one … laugh

I wouldn't dare give you a tour of my workshop, following a recent kitchen renovation, it's a complete tip!

Thanks Daniel, I'd enjoy a trip through your workshop, I've managed to shoehorn a lot into my small space that I have.

Brian I'd only just finished a big clean up so it was a very opportune time! Trust me, its not neat like that all the time

You can have a look round my workshop if you wish. I did a *** Workshop Tour *** a few years ago. Hasn't changed much, just more accumulated stuff filling up the corners and collecting dust!

This thread has reminded me that I need to take photos in the workshop for insurance purposes. I have nearly finished taking the pictures (a lot) and would like to make them viewable on this thread for any one on here who might be interested.

                        Two things then:

                        1. What would be the easiest (free) prog/app to batch shrink the pics for upload?

                        2. What method to use to make a LINK which would make them viewable on here?

                        Rik

I use ImageMagick for this sort of conversion job. It's a powerful command-line image tool-set available for Windows, Linux and Mac.

After installing, from the unix shell or a Windows run or command.exe console:

                          1. Navigate to the folder containing the pictures with 'cd'
                          2. magick '*.jpg' -resize 640×280 small%03d.jpg

magick is the convert program (on my Ubuntu computer it's called 'convert' rather than 'magick'

'*.jpg' means 'all files in the current folder suffixed .jpg'

-resize 640×280 means convert the image to a maximum 640 width by 240 pixel height

small%03d.jpg means output a copy of each picture with a serial number, eg. small001.jpg

Then copy all the small*.jpg files to your preferred photo hosting platform. I only use this forum to store photos and it's not good for bulk images because it's a faff to upload and link to. Can't recommend any others because I've not used them or read their Terms & Conditions.

Rik, apart from using the forums own somewhat clunky image system you could use your BlogSpot website (assuming it is still current) I don't use BlogSpot but I assume it has similar facilities to WordPress for posting and editing images. You could crate a new post or page and just link to that perhaps.

I use a free programme called 'FSResizer', works a treat, very simple to install & use, does batch resize as well as single pics. I've used it for all my pics in all my albums on my pc, & when loading into this forum is the correct size but you can resize smaller if you want, a doddle to use, give it a try. Usual disclaimer applies.
