Britain has many money-pits to be proud of, Concorde for example.

Do you honestly believe that Westminster would give more than $1 to a place that England didn't need????

That money is strategic welfare and cheaper than trying to man a hard border between two foreign countries

Plus it means England doesn't become the most overpopulated country in the EU, losing 33% of its land mass overnight

I like being British and I'm proud of being a Brit and we're lucky that Scotland is run by a bunch of complete and utter wallies or that country would be long gone from the UK

Even Iceland can balance its books but the muppet show in Holyrood is a farce of fools beyond belief

It sort of rewrote history in terms of the first computer and revealed just how long it was used after the war.

Concords biggest problem initially was an interesting one – quote from the wiki

Later the fuel crisis took it's toll but the above cancelled a lot of orders. I happened to be working at a Lucas Aerospace plant when it flew round the country passing low over runways where it couldn't land. So I have probably been a lot closer to it in flight than many and it didn't seem to be that noisy to me. The plants fence wasn't that far from the runway. The makers not wanting to carry on supporting it finally finished it off. The crash would have helped too.
