Hi There
First of, a big ello to you guys,
My first topic of many I hope.
I was lucky enough to have bought my first ever lathe, A myford super 7 Mk1
thhe old girl was in a very horrible state, only as it was covered in sworth and had been over painted a couple of times,
Having done a total nut and bold strip down, and having inspected the lathe for wear, I think I have been lucky as its extreamly good, with little or no wear.
I have been a classic car buff most of my life and am lucky to own a nice warm workshop with lots of helpful tools,
a parts bath and a blasting cabinet have been no end of use to my little myford.
I have made plates to cover any ways, or exposed metal i did not want blasted, plugged threads with old bolts etc etc and have made a start on rebuilding my super 7 (see pics attached)
I have got so far as the cabinet, the drip tray, the bed its self, the headstock, the brook crompton motor and the tail stock.
Three things I would like help with plz.
I am after a couple of raising blocks, so if any one has a genuine set he or she does not need, plz pm me, cash waiting for a good set with there bolts etc.
or were would be the best place to by the after market ones ??? are they any good????
second question, with the head stock apart, its probably worth me changing the head stock V belt, who sells the best quality as I don't want to be replacing it again .
last question is with regards to a grub screw.
please see first photo, the size is writt
en next to it, were does this go????
