I hope I've got this right, sorry if its a bit long, but 'natural sound'.

Southam doing much of a lap around the Nottingham track, edited from highlight of three laps. True confession, although it's not going as fast as a flat-out Rob Roy, this is 2 or 3 time scale speed

Did not see you a Nottingham 3 1/2" gauge rally this year? We had one more wagon and a friend brought his LMS 8f very nice.

              Very good!

Even better with a heroine tied to the track whilst the villain twirls his moustachios. Meanwhile the hero runs along the top of the train narrowly missing being decapitated by low bridges. He jumps off just in time to switch the train over a cliff edge where it explodes in a ball of flame. Perhaps next time?

That's easy Neil just double up to 7 1/4 boring I know but a lot more interesting tracks to run on and the detailing is easer its bigger.

One of their 5-inch 0-6-0 diesels. An unusual one, of course.

The NZR use the shunter  known as DSG that has two motors with the cab in between. They are 0-4-4-0, made by Toshiba Heavy Industries of Japan.

Nice one Neil. I think you have inspired my first loco. Club members have put doubt on the versatility of 31/2 inch so 71/4 it will be And why the heck not?

A 7 1/4 version would be epic! Eight times the volume and eight times as heavy it should be able to pull eight people at least with a big enough motor and a hefty battery!

I'd suggest definitely going for belt drive and ball races in the drive train/axle boxes, although an angle grinder bevel gear should still be enough for the final drive.
