SX3 Lubrication System for my mill

Hi Everyone has anyone fitted a one shot Lubrication system to a SX3 Milling Machine and any recommendations or has anyone got photos in a album i can look at please.

also gib strips x y Brass or Steel replacements for the SX3, look forward to your recommendations

Are you planning to do a lot of milling? My X3 which is quite similar may get a squirt from an oil can once or twice a year and after 14yrs use making quite a few models stills seems to be working fine.

The KX3 does have one shot oiling and gets a pump maybe once for every hours use but that more to reduce stiction for fine movements and in a hour it will be moving far more and a lot faster than a manual mill.

I'm still on all the original gib strips and don't see a need to change.

Hi Kevin,

If you are going to adjust the z axis gib strip, any chance you could pop the top adjuster out and make a drawing for me. mine is missing and id like to make a replacement.

There are a few photos of the oil points on a KX3 on this page which may give you some ideas as general arrangement is not unlike an SX3 note that the surfaces are all grooved so that the oil is spread evenly rather than pumping into a hole that is blocked by the mating surface which would require quite a bit of work to the machine..

Hi Jason B thanks for the info , i have the x y gibs out and one had lots of deep scratchers on it and the other has a curve in it . as i have it striped down so i was looking at the oil system i will give arc a ring tomorrow
