Sealing workshop floor

When I can summon the energy to find the garage floor it needs sealing- it is concrete , sound but dusty. I just want a clear sealant if possible , but an effective one. I have used a clear 2 part epoxy product in the past but it was expensive.

Any recommendations chaps ?.

Garage floor paint from your local DIY superstore, relatively cheap and easily applied, if it gets damaged open the tin and touch it up. It's what is on my garage floor. A mop and a bucket is all that is needed to clean it, if that is your bag.

Floor paint. The screwfix stuff gets good reviews and is cheap as chips.

Just looked for it on the Screwfix site Vic – for some reason searching for "Floor Paint" didn't get any me any useful results (maybe it's the way I type it?).

Found it after scrolling through just the "Paint" selection but it will come up immediately if you search for:

"Leyland Trade Heavy Duty Floor Paint"

Don't remember who I bought it from, but did spend days/weeks researching/searching.

The price of 2-pack put me off.

This is my hobby, not some of the manufacturing facilities that make me drool.

Successfully painted a workshop floor with epoxy floor paint in the 60sQuite a large area. The tins got emptied into a large can, then someone asked "what's the pot life", to which the answer was 20minutes, so we grabed a broom each(about 3 ft wide), tipped some paint on the floor, and went for it. Read the instructions.

Floor paint is also excellent for floors made of flooring grade chipboard. I did this some 8 years ago and it is still looking good. It really is tough and sweeps clean very easily, although the Screwfix stuff I used had the most horrid smell during application.

I used floor paint , but before i applied it i sealed the floor with a solution of 20%PVA to water.

Works a treat.

Painted mine some years back with a decent brand whilst most machines were out, it didn't last a day after being left for 3 days. Should have sealed floor first.

Better still just lay thin 3mm or thicker rubber matting stops a lot of the cold coming through and beneficial when got the dropsies.

I coated mine with a specific garage floor paint that had a built in sealer (water based PVA ? ) then gave it a couple of extra coats using all the paint from the tin. let it dry overnight, now have got a lot of those foam tiles from Mach. Mart ( usual disclaimer ) to keep the cold from rising through the concrete, much easier on he feet too.
