      I've got a Sony Vaio laptop (Windows) that's 12 years old, still going strong with fifteen year old versions of Photoshop, video editing, CAD, Office and music editing software on it, still working and still doing what I want it to do. The secret is it's not connected to the internet in any form. The battery is starting to show signs of being a little tired but I have the computer plugged in pretty much permanently on its mains charger. In fact it's the keyboard that's starting to play up as some of the more commonly used keys you have to press quite hard. I want to see the software manufacturers legally oblige me to make me update their software. Another bonus is I don't get bombarded with messages every other day encouraging me to download the latest version of XYZ for no reason.
