ME Vertical Boiler – Cap Exhausat (BF12)

I have nearly complerted the ME Vertical Boiler, but am confused.

BF12 – The Cap Exhaust fitting is fitted to the Smokebox cap with the small pipe bent up into the chimney. Done, and understood, BUT the other end – on the top of the Smokebox Cap seems to have just an open end. …My question is that all there is to it or does the top portion then connect elswhere. I can find no information other than the fitting and bending the tube into the Chimney. There is a hedding in issue 4608 "Installing the Cap Exhaust fitting."

Any advice and information much aprecxiated

You run the exhaust from the engine back to fitting on th etop of the boiler and then it will go up the chimney to help with the draft.
