I wonder if anyone could assist me in my search to sell numerous precision engineering tools I aquired from my father. These include boxes of collets & some tools I can't even put a name to. I may not have clicked on the appropriate section but hopefully this message will be seen & someone may be able to help.

      Many Thanks

            Hi,
An indication of the location of the parts would useful, a inspection is always better than photographs.

Privately, yes. Publicly on here NO.

                Alison,

I live in Northamptonshire. If that is near you send me a PM and I'll help you identify what you have.

Alison, have a look at some of the tool suppliers with links on here, such as Arc Euro Trade, Warco, Etc. Items on their websites should help you identify all or most of your dads equipment and give you the cost of such items when new. Setting a price for your items will depend on condition, but once you know what they are Ebay should give you a fair idea of how to price them up. A great place to sell them would be the Homeworkshop site. I don't know how to post a link to that site, but I am sure someone on here could help with that. Sorry to hear of your loss, and good luck with clearing the tools.

                  Dek.

Post pics on here and the panel will be able to tell you what they are.

Start off by googling images of some things. Try the following for starters.

                      Micrometer

                      Digital caliper

                      Vernier caliper

                      Gauge blocks

                      Slip gauges

                      Surface plate

                      Height gauge

                      1 2 3 block

Alison, why not make an album on your account and add some photo's then for sure you will receive plenty of advice. Just click Albums on the green banner at the top then follow the instructions.

Alternatively I am in NW Lancashire if you are close PM me — as far as your location why not just post the county or town ?

I did say an INDICATION of location, not your address.
