Any advice on how to source a new bulb for my Vertex swan neck work light? Seller RDG can't help. It seems to me that the bulb is part of the reflector unit? Anyway I can't shift it!

      Many thanks

A picture is worth a thousand words. We might recognise it and be able to suggest a source.

            Looks like it’s not a bulb – it’s a LED.

Rather depends on how long you have had it, My vertex one is halogen. The round part of teh head screws off of the body taking the reflector with it. The lamp is just a capsule type

One plants bulbs but lights lamps cheeky

                  Bulbs grow and lamps glow

Halogens lamps may be preferable to LEDs because of the lack of the stroboscopic effect.

The strobe effect does not affect DC lighting and if it pulses you put a capacitor across the feed ! Noel.

                      FWIW

If it is a Halogen lamp, (You'll know by how hot it gets! ) it might be a 24 Volt, 50 watt. When searching for a replacement from local electrical suppliers, none could be found..

Eventually, I obtained several replacements from the supplier of my lathe. If it is 24V 50W, you could try Warco or Chester, since this is probably what was fitted to the BH 600 and Craftsman (Still available ), and may be fitted to later models..

Because the lamp was so hot and had such a short life, I filed two diametrically opposed slots, about 8 mm wide in the edge of the "reflector".

Lamp life has been GREATLY extended.

I just changed the halogen bulb in an Ikea Espressivo lamp – the bulb looks pretty much like the one in the photo. Mine was a straight plug-in and just pulled out. 12V 20W.

The new one (12V 20W) was obtainable as either a halogen bulb or an LED replacement. I used the LED version …. same package, very bright and 2W instead of 40. Runs much cooler of course.
