Does anyone recognise these centres ?

These left and right-handed centres came to me with some other stuff. I have no idea what machine or equipment they come from but they are no good to me.

Does anyone recognise them ?

Would they be of use to anyone ? If so I'll be happy to send for the cost of the postage. If not, I will remove the 'potentially useful parts' and bin the castings.

The look like they might attach to a large straight edge. The colour is like Jones & Shipman.

They are possibly the centres from a Floating Carriage Micrometer which is a bench mounted device used for inspection of gauges such as screw thread gauges. Have a look via Google.

I think they are centers for a tool and cutter grinder, possibly from a reamer grinding attachment.

They do look a little larger than I have seen but possibly for a Toolmakers microscope?

Bin the centres and keep the castings, the centres can be made easily, not the case for the castings!
