I'm looking to convert a Gauge 1 GCR 9N into an LNER A5. The safety on the (real) 9N had ( I think) a Ramsbottom-type valve in a shroud and the A5 had a pair of standard Ross pop valves.

The boiler I have has a faux Belpair "firebox" over a traditional Gauge 1 "Project" type type boiler, with one bush (looks like brass) for a ball valve with a brass shroud over the valve to give it a Ramsbottom-esque look.

I'm thinking to silver solder a second (bronze) bush directly behind the existing bush using a Sievert with a small head and some old Easyflo 2 I have lying around.

Does anyone have any ideas about doing this? Or am I crazy to try this and should just glue/soft solder the second dummy safety on top of the dummy Belpair and be happy?

      Thanks for any thoughts,

      Sim
