Anyone know if the beam on this series of linear scales can be shortened.  I’m assuming if it’s a glass scale that’s a no but I can’t find any information on the type of scale it is.

There are more than one videos about on how to do this.

I milled through the aluminium housing and cut the exposed glass scale with a small diamond disc in an air grinder.

Take one of the endcaps off- you’ll be able to see the end of the scale if it’s glass – remember work clean, don’t get cutting debris down the housing onto the scale, vacuum cleaner, airblast from the other end etc.
