Bearings in 7 1/4 Con / Coupling Rods

Hello,

Has anyone tried introducing off the shelf bearings into their con / coupling rod designs for 7 1/4" locos? For example you can get a 12mmx16mmx10mm needle bush and a 12mmx26x2.8mm needle thrust bearing.
