Welcome to the Forum, I'm sure you will find much of interest here.
I don't have personal experience of a screwcutting gearbox on an ML7 other than the Myford made version, but I do know that the Sparey gearbox is now a distant accessory; a more up to date version is available through Hemingway Kits.
Ii is now known as the David Machin gearbox, with cast aluminium casing and a built in fine feed gearing that Sparey didn't include. As Sparey, the gearbox uses all Myford change wheels and my friend who built one has been pleased with it.
