Or should I ask what 'was' it.?

I know it's a Myford. I ain't THAT stupid.! (besides it says Myford on it. ) Which Myford is/was it.?

Is it in need of some TLC or a visit from the scrap man.

The rest of the parts/motor are not in the photo but do exist.

Nick, If it's very cheap just buy it ! A Myford will alway be saleable and all it needs is some TLC an maybe a few parts.

I am sure it's an ML7

It's deffinitely an ML7 and I would venture to say no more than 45 years old. See if you can find the serial number, iff I'm right about the age it will be stamped on the rear of the bed shear at the tailstock end of the lathe.

That would be an equivalent price to a medium sized bag of Jelly babies then.! …………… Sounds fair.

It's actually not mine. (but it could be if I asked for it) It belongs to a friend of mine who owns an engineering company. He asked me would I look at an electrical problem on one of his mills and I noticed it when I was there. He says 20+ years ago somebody gave it to him (he cannot remember who) and it's on in his workshop floor ever since.

Definitely an ML7, and has the long cross-slide (but with a bit of a bodged handle) – worth having for that alone. Also a 2-way toolpost.

I should grab it and run away before he changes his mind..
