Workshop Shopping in London?

Hi,I'm going to London for the Model Engineer Exhibition,
staying in Bayswater from Okt 30 til November 3rd.
I also want to do some 'Workshop Shopping'.
I can probably get many of the things I want at the Exibition on Friday,
but it would be nice to do some shoping on Wednesday/Thursday too! (And a museum or too).

The things I want to buy is: Parallels, Wavy parallels,Angle plates, Angle set, quares, Reamers, Engineers clamps, Test bar, Digital scale for tailstock, Coolant pipes …

If I can get it on the plane back, (paid luggage is 10kg + 2 x 20kg), I might
also buy a milling vice, rotary table …

Visiting MEE at SandownLast year I also went up to CHRONOS in Dunstable, and I might go there now too,
but several of the things that I want to buy is out of stock.
It is a bit far from London too, and a trip will take most of the day.

Are there any other shops in London or the surrounding area that I should visit?

Why not consider a visit to Home and Machinery at Foots Cray (SE London). Mainly used kit but a veritable gold mine of interesting quality things. Look at their web site. (Usual disclaimer, just a happy customer)(

Model engineering suppliers tend to be a bit spread out and also may not have much on display so you will probably see more at the show. Even living at the edge of London I use the shows for getting most stuff. There are a couple of industrial sized machine dealers around if you can get an M300 in you backpack.

Depending on the days, transport, and where you are staying you might be able to get an invite to a Model Engineering club or two. Also the SMEE HQ which might be open in the evening for a talk or something thus extending the day.

If you have 'done' the main museums on previous trips there is the Kew Bridge pumping station and St Katherine's dock maritime museum. If your weight allowance +2 indicates a spouse in tow the latter has overpriced girlie shops nearby.

Check before you go to Chonus as they are in the middle of a move.

 

Home & Workshop in Darford is well worth a visit as someone mentioned above.

is the St Katherine's dock maritime museum the same as or part of the Royal Museums Greenwich?

I had problems finding it on Yahoo.

Ah, sorry, it looks like the dock museum has closed or gone away someplace.
