Hi, l am Colin Halls, retired heating engineer with an interest  in modelling horse drawn wagons and farm implements,  l have  some workshop machinery and l would put my skill level at poor to moderate  l have long had an ambition to model a Smythe seed drill, l have access to one and have many pictures but lack the skill to produce plans, my research has turned up a connection to Cherry Hill who l understand model a similar drill, if anyone has any information on the subject please let me know.

I don’t recall seeing mention of Cherry making one, she tended to go more for self propelled subjects rather than one that was pulled along and too much wood in it for her.

There is mention of one by John Haining in an old model engineer but not one of his published designs as far as I know. If anyone has ME 3888 Vol 166 of 1991 they might post an image from the Ursk show.

The Guild of Model Wheelwrights is no more but that would be a place to look as I’m sure I have seen seed drills on their displays
