Hi all, I have just got a set of drawings for the above, has anyone built one of these,and would be willing to share any pitfalls which they encountered in their build. Also should I have a steel boiler or a copper one? I have seen a copper boiler advertised by a well known supplier, I don’t think that I will build my own boiler.

Further to my post above, I have been looking at the drawings and have noticed that I have some sheets in 3″scale and some in 2″ scale, do I need to scale up the 2″ ones to 3″ also the cylinder/valve drawings don’t seem to be there! I have tried to contact myhobby store where I got them but can’t get through!

I think MHS supply the dairy engine drawing with the dredger and that is 2" scale so you may be looking at that. As far as I know teh dredger was only ever done in 3"

 

Steel boiler is probably a bit cheaper to have made

Hello Jason, sorry to take so long to reply. After another study of the drawings I’m sure that the 2″scale on the drawings are a misprint. Like you suggest I will eventually go for the steel boiler.
