Set a Status

'Set a Status' appears against my name when the site opens; what does this mean?

Click on it and a free text box opens up. I've changed mine to "alive and well with no symptoms" but i was tempted to enter "no improvement, still a grumpy 63 year old".

That's all right then. I don't have any friends, though I believe I read about them in a book some years ago.
