Hmm – still no joy – on 3 different devices. Firefox says something like ‘server taking too long to respond’ and Safari ‘cannot connect to the server’. I am having no difficulty with anything else.

I’m in Buxton Derbyshire on Plusnet, but using a VPN.
Probably less than a second to connect just now by clicking on the link in your opening post.
Have you tried re-booting your router in case something there is blocking it?
Alternatively try a mobile phone, via mobile data rather than WiFi, as it’s likely to use a different DNS server.

If you try typing “is it down” into your preferred search engine, there’s several website which will check a status for you.
This is the first example from my search just now;

Yes, I sometimes find similar depending on the website.
This forum for instance isn’t accessible if I use Opera’s built in Asia VPN, but it does tell me it’s blocked by admin.

Well, I have logged in successfully this morning from my phone using 4G. I have just spent nearly an hour on the phone with a tech support guy at my ISP (the excellent ZEN internet) who tested everything. Conclusion: my IP address seems to be blocked by the forum.

At present the site is timing out on me. It was not this morning.

I think AdeV said that there could difficulties over the next few days with a migration to another server (but I could be wrong).

AdeV has fixed it. At the moment it is loading for me faster than usual.

Something strange is happening.  I am in France and it wouldn’t connect.  I enabled my VPN to appear to be in the UK and it works. I thought it was supposed to be an international forum>

Strange indeed Russel, for me it is the opposite. If using my VPN I am not able to reach Modelenginemaker, if I turn off the VPN I connect immediately.

It is still timing out on me. “Is it down” shows that it is working. I have two laptop and use FireFox without VPN. It also times out on Chrome.

JA, you may have the same problem as I did. If you have a smart phone, try connecting with that, using 4G, not your wifi. You can write to admins@…

Thanks Charles. I am not very good with my smart phone, which I hate, but using Google I cannot get a response.

Just to say – 30/05/26 – the forum is still not liking my French IP address, have not been able to access the forum for ages.

I have been told today that it would appear that there is a blanket block on a range of IP addresses suspected of hacking the site and my French IP address is probably in that range.  If you click https://ww2.modelenginemaker.com and then click Contact  and send them a message they may be able to unblock you, if you are really genuine!

It also transpires there is a major change to the set-up this weekend which should resolve the issue long term.

I should have posted this earlier but with Charles Lamont’s help I contacted “modelenginemaker.com”‘s administrator. Over the next few days we managed to get me back on to the forum. Evidently it was not accepting some IP addresses with some other users also having the same problem. During this investigation I was given access to the new site and had no problems.

The move to its new home is happening now so the site is down.
