John if you look in your sentbox you will see if the message has been read by the date it was read or if its still marked as unread.

I think the problem people are having is that sent emails are not appearing in the sent box!

Ian, John said he had "Messaged & e-mailed" the person and I was commenting on the message part which you can tell if it has got through by the fact it will have the date and time that it was read.

I have commented about e-mails in that thread but John Fs reply shows why you will not see anything in your personal e-mail sent box.

The message is in my 'sent' box but is unread. The e-mail sent using the link in the advert does not show up in my e-mail sent folder.

Ok that obviously means that they have not read the PM, you do find a lot of sellers just become a member in order to place an advert so they don't tend to look at the forums or to see if they have any messages.

Regarding the e-mail, this is taken from Neils explanation in the other thread which is why they are not in your sent box on your own computer.

"The emails aren't sent via your email provider, they are sent by our system.

This means they don't show up in your outbox and they do just 'disappear' without leaving a trace, there is no way you can tell if it has failed to send or not."

If you want to send another e-mail that you can keep track of then do as I suggested in the other thread
