Has anyone made the 72" belt grinder as detailed in Jeremy Schmidt's website

It looks the business but must be very heavy and perhaps over-engineered.

I am thinking of a version made with lighter gauge steel. Any thoughts?

I made a similar item and built it out of 50×50 x 5mm

wouldnt have wanted any less to make a rigid structure

I also made this. It was my first real welding project. I use it pretty much every day tbh. Mine isn't perfect but any small issues are down to my lack of experience and accuracy. I intend to build another one using 6mm bright steel.
